About this role
Position Overview:
As a Commissary Driver you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of food and supplies from the central commissary to various locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operating the delivery vehicle either van or truck to transport foods, supplies or products from the commissary to designated locations
- Planning and organizing delivery routes to optimize efficiency and meeting delivery schedules
- Loading and unloading delivered items, ensuring the proper handling and securing products to prevent damages during transportation
- Verifying the accuracy of the delivery items against the delivery manifest and or order sheet
- Perform routine inspections of the delivery vehicle (pre-trip) checking for any mechanical or safety issues
- Reporting any vehicle malfunctions or regular maintenance to leadership immediately
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date delivery logs which includes delivery records, mileage and fuel usage
- Ensuring all required documentation such as deliver receipts and or invoices are completed accurately and according to company policies
- Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations during transportation
- Following health and safety guidelines regarding food products pre, during and post delivery
- Communicating effectively with commissary staff, supervisors and customers regarding scheduled deliveries, changes or any issues
- Adhere to all company safety standards
- Training would be a few weekdays
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Additional day hours are possible with catering, random deliveries and subbing for other drivers (covering vacations).

Must be somewhat flexible to accommodate weather conditions or unforeseen issues.
Dodge Cargo Van
Pay:
- 17.50 per hour.
Schedule:
- Saturdays 7:30am-1:30pm
Experience:
- Preferred: Zero - One (0-1) year driving experience or relevant experience
- Serve Safe certification or comparable
Skills:
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
- Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Working in a team-based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
- Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
- Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
