About this role

Position Summary: 

The Therapist provides outpatient counseling services to patients within the Bozeman Health system. As a mental health professional, this position plays a vital role in providing comprehensive mental health services and coordination of treatment with other members in the care system. This role receives referrals for individuals of all age groups from providers within the health system to provide individual and family therapy, case management services, referral, and follow-up to acute and chronic behavioral health concerns.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
  • Licensed as an LCSW, LCPC, LMFT in the state of Montana
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience in the health care field.
  • Preferred: Relevant certifications

Essential Job Functions:  In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine patients’ behavioral health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with planning of frequency, intensity, and duration of individual, group, and family therapies.
  • Provide individual therapeutic sessions utilizing evidence-based treatment with the opportunity to create group therapy options if the need arises.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Assess patient progress and modify treatment programs accordingly; communicates with and counsels family members as appropriate.
  • Provide crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.
  • Document therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; implements and adheres to policies which ensure patient confidentiality.

Schedule Requirements

  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

  • Push/Pull (Repeatedly): Using the upper extremities to press or exert force against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
  • Fine-Finger Movements (Continuously): Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than using the whole hand as in handling.
  • Vision (Continuously): Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures and to read computer screens, printed materials, and handwritten materials.
  • Cognitive Skills (Continuously): Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.
  • Exposures (Continuously): Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses. Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
