Big Sky Resort is seeking a Caretaker to join our Employee Housing Team. This is a full-time year-round position supporting the day-to-day operations of our Team Member Housing program, which includes 800 beds across four campus locations. Depending on your interests and strengths, this role may focus more on residential support (cleanliness, inspections, and room turnovers) or basic facilities maintenance (preventative upkeep, light repairs, and snow removal). The ideal candidate enjoys variety, takes pride in maintaining a welcoming and safe environment, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

 

This is a Full-Time Year-Round benefited position.


Responsibilities

  • Perform housekeeping and custodial duties in resident rooms and common areas, including deep cleans and turnover service.
  • Support preventative maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, and TV remote batteries.
  • Assist with regular room inspections and respond to basic work orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of public/shared spaces such as bathrooms, kitchens, gyms, and lounges.
  • Perform snow removal duties during winter months using shovels, snowblowers, and ice chippers.
  • Support administrative tasks including distributing housing communications and notices.
  • Assist with furniture moves and hotel-style turnovers.
  • Accurately track housekeeping and maintenance activity in StarRez.
  • Report resident conduct concerns to the Housing Manager.
  • Support general housing operations and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift, move, or carry up to 40 lbs unassisted.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, stooping, and working in varied indoor/outdoor environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; computer literacy is essential.
  • Experience with StarRez housing management system preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with small power equipment and hand tools preferred.
