Overview

Bowhead seeks a highly experienced and motivated Business Development professional to catalyze new business growth for our DMV market. As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for brand awareness, building, managing, and maturing the Capture opportunities in your pipeline to compete for new business. The individual will be responsible for establishing, maturing and managing a pipeline of new business opportunities expanding support to our customers. The ideal candidate will have superior communication skills and experience working with Department of War, including Army executive agencies to include: United States Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM), Army Futures Command and associated Cross Functional Teams, PEO Command Control Communications 3 Tactical (C3T), Soldier, and Ground Combat Systems (GCS), and the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center, Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC), Joint Program Office Chemical Biological Defense (JPEO CBD) and the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM).

Responsibilities

• Developing, maturing, and maintaining a qualified pipeline of competitive opportunities that support Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Engineering offerings focused on our existing DoW and new customers operational needs and requirements.• Leading capture efforts that effectively mature new business opportunities through our Shipley Gate process and result in the successful submission of winning proposals.• Actively participating in the “start to finish” development and submission of winning proposals to include close collaboration with subject matter experts, and proposal, contracts, pricing, and talent acquisition teams.• Establishing effective communication networks with government stakeholders and industry partners to qualify opportunities and gain better understanding into operational requirements• Building and fostering new relationships with government stakeholders and industry partners.• Managing approved Capture and B&P allocations for your three year pipeline of new business opportunities.• Identify, plan and execute strategies to maintain and expand our existing support to our customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education plus 10 yrs operations/project management and business development experience in a government setting.• Established relationships with Government customers, stakeholders, and industry teaming partners across the warfighter systems, requirements, processes, and solutions landscape.• Qualified experience successfully leading new business Capture efforts on Prime competitive bids valued at >$50M.• Successful record of competing for and winning contracts valued at >$50M.• Developing solutions, conducting competitive assessments, and shaping strategy.• Quantified experience writing and reviewing proposals.• Effective communication skills - both oral and written (Must be able to communicate with managers, customers, and government stakeholders at all levels).• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.• Proven ability to work remotely, managing individual workload, priorities, and schedule with little supervision and must possess the highest business, work, and ethical standards. Experience working with DoD prime system contractors/integrators.• Experience developing and closing on new business opportunities with the Department of War.• Advanced knowledge of Department of Army operations and key executive agencies• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications:• Active Top-Secret clearance.• Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited institution.• Operational experience within the DoW with an emphasis on support to the Department of the Army.• Previous assignment as an Acquisition Officer within the United States Army• Previous experience at Division-level or higher staffs within the United States Army

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold an active Secret Clearance. Top Secret Clearance preferred. US Citizenship is a requirement.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
