We are looking for a SUE Foreman who will be responsible for performing various subsurface utility designating and locating utilities. 

Responsibilities

  • Mastery in the operation of SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) utility locating and designating equipmentin complex utility infrastructure environments to accurately map all utilities within the project area.
  • SUE utility locating and designating equipment in complex utility infrastructure environments to accuratelymap all utilities within the project area using ground-penetrating radar and other locating devices.
  • Complete detailed and accurate daily reports, forms and field sketches, both electronically as well as draft byhand.
  • Supervise daily SUE field crew activities and train other crew members.
  • Represent and communicate on behalf of Boudreau Utility Locating with clients, sub-contractors, and thirdparties during field duties.
  • Drives, operates, and helps maintain vacuum excavation vehicles to provide vertical location and dispositionof underground utilities.
  • Assists in providing Maintenance of Traffic Control setup, as well as all related safety and other field tasks.
  • Properly follows all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Reports any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
  • Keep the vacuum excavation trucks and support vehicles stocked with the appropriate equipment, supplies,and tools, paints, flags, signs, asphalt, concrete, etc.
  • May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer.
  • Digs, spreads, and levels construction materials.
  • Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies.Maintains regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Control labor, material, supply and equipment costs to assure the job is completed on schedule andwithin budget.
  • See to it that all work is done in a safe and workman-like manner.
  • See to it that all work is completed to BPC quality standards the first time with no need to do work asecond time to correct problems.
  • Provide supervision and direction to all crew members at all times. If an employee is not performingtheir work in a satisfactory manner, direct the employee to cease work, leave the job site and report tothe Field.
  • Assure that all Boudreau vehicles, tools and equipment utitilized on the Foreman’s job site aremaintained in a clean condition and all tools are accounted for at the end of each day.

SAFETY

  • Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using theappropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Conduct weekly tail-gate safety meetings with all crew members and see to it that all related formsand attendance sheets are completed by the employees attending the safety meetings.
  • Report all employee accidents immediately to the Office and the Field Superintendent andimmediately complete all accident forms and submit them to the Field Superintendent.
  • Sees to it that all employees wear all appropriate protective safety gear and follow all safetyregulations and requirements while on the job site.
  • Keep all work and the job site clean and safe (equipment, bin area, lay down space, supplies andmaterials)

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in Utility Designating
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, andprocedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately to learn products, processes,safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, commonfractions and decimals
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagramform; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Report. Class A license required.

Pay range: $35.55 - $45.00 based on experience.
