As their office opens, our client is seeking an experienced Reconstruction Project Manager with local restoration expertise in the Orange County, CA area.
Job Purpose
The Reconstruction Project Manager plays a key role in overseeing residential and commercial reconstruction projects from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering projects on time, on budget, and with outstanding customer satisfaction as the office starts building their business.
As a Reconstruction Project Manager, you’ll work closely with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution while upholding safety, compliance, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
As the Reconstruction Project Manager, you will:
- Manage multiple reconstruction projects simultaneously while meeting operational goals for sales, gross margin, and customer experience.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, adjusters, subcontractors, and property managers.
- Understand insurance claims workflows and ensure proper communication, documentation, and financial controls.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust project budgets and schedules.
- Select, coordinate, and manage subcontractors; maintain strong local vendor relationships.
- Spend significant time in the field overseeing progress, inspecting job sites, and maintaining quality control.
- Resolve project issues proactively with a bias for action and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Use technology and modern communication tools to keep all stakeholders informed.
- Deliver a high-level customer experience with empathy, reliability, and urgency.
Required Qualifications
To be successful as a Reconstruction Project Manager, you have:
- Restoration experience.
- Contractor B's license (required).
- Reconstruction or construction project management experience.
- Experience with mitigation and reconstruction processes.
- Strong understanding of insurance claims, estimating, documentation, budgets, and job costing.
- Ability to independently manage projects.
- Working knowledge of construction methods, trades, sequencing, and jobsite safety.
- Proficiency with Xactimate or willingness/ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed for emergencies or urgent project needs.
- Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including navigating job sites and working in variable indoor/outdoor environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT) or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Symbility, PSA, Encircle, DocuSketch, or similar platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
- $75,000–$85,000 annual salary, depending on experience and certifications
