Bachelor's degree in science or engineering preferred; a relevant diploma combined with extensive related experience will also be considered. 5+ years of experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, or CMM programming. Ability to work across both optical and probe‑based measurement modalities . Strong GD&T knowledge and demonstrated ability to interpret complex engineering drawings. Proven CMM experience (Zeiss preferred; PC‑DMIS, Mitutoyo, or equivalent acceptable). Experience in measurement fundamentals, including methodology, fixture/setup development, and understanding measurement uncertainty. Competence with statistical tools and concepts, including Gage R&R, repeatability, and variation analysis. Experience inspecting or measuring small precision parts, including molded or machined components. Experience with the Zeiss ecosystem, including Zeiss CMM software or Zeiss optical systems. Optical metrology or microscopy experience, including understanding depth of field, illumination, and optical system behavior. Background measuring components with tight tolerances (e.g., defense or aerospace‑style tolerances). Experience with small plastic‑molded parts, though not required. Experience with curve and freeform measurement. Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, or pharmaceutical manufacturing, with exposure to qualification, validation, and compliance‑driven measurement processes. Familiarity with regulatory and international standards relevant to engineering drawings and inspection (e.g., ISO standards for dimensioning, tolerancing, and verification), and the ability to ensure measurement approaches align with those requirements. Strong communication skills, especially in explaining measurement rationale and results.
