<p class="job-description-header">Who We Are</p><p><span>The Value Based Pricing (“VBP”) team provides both traditional finance and strategic execution support to BCG’s largest and most complex at-risk fee contracts in North America (“NAMR”), ranging in size from $10M to $100M+. Co-op support adds significant value to VBP Finance operations, and is a hands-on, substantive role that helps produce materials that are leveraged by Managing Partners and senior leaders across the firm.</span></p><p> </p><p><span>This role is designed for students interested in finance, business analytics, risk management, and project management. Day-to-day activities can vary but core responsibilities typically include:</span></p><ul type="disc"><li><span><strong>Support complex reporting processes:</strong></span></li><ul type="circle"><li><span>Assisting with weekly customized budget reports distributed to consulting teams across 30+ VBP programs</span></li><li><span>Updating portfolio-level tracking tools, including:</span></li><ul type="square"><li><span>Financial dashboard summarizing performance of all $10M+ programs</span></li><li><span>Portfolio office allocation review (ensures proper revenue recognition across offices/systems/practice areas)</span></li></ul><li><span>Compile and circulate weekly news updates for active VBP programs</span></li></ul><li><span><strong>Automation Support:</strong></span></li><ul type="circle"><li><span>Enhance and identify opportunities to streamline workflows using AI tools like ChatGPT and Power Automate</span></li></ul><li><span><strong>Meeting Coordination:</strong></span></li><ul type="circle"><li><span>Coordinate weekly VBP team meetings - setting agendas, taking notes, following up on open items / takeaways from meetings</span></li><li><span>Coordinate guest speakers to help enhance VBP team learning and development</span></li></ul><li><span><strong>Ad-hoc Support: </strong></span></li></ul><ul><li><ul><li><span>Collaborate with team members on special projects as needed, gaining exposure to different aspects of the business</span></li></ul></li></ul><br><br><p class="job-description-header">What You'll Do</p><ul><li><span>Being a collaborative team player: Co-ops will work across the full team and assist teammates in completing ad hoc deliverables in a timely manner, lead data tracking and maintenance efforts, and help to plan and coordinate meetings and other large team events.  </span></li><li><span>Implementing change: Develop and proactively evolve reporting in response to business needs to provide senior leadership and other key customers with actionable analysis.  </span></li><li><span>Staying organized: Our team touches many pieces of the business that will require co-ops to be flexible and efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment  </span></li><li><span>Navigating ambiguity and multi-task in a fast-paced organization  </span></li><li><span>Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of an organization</span></li></ul><br><br><p class="job-description-header">What You'll Bring</p><ul><li><span>Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled at Northeastern University</span></li><li><span>Preferably a sophomore or above with strong academic performance  </span></li><li><span>Prior work/co-op experience is a plus  </span></li><li><span>Good problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail  </span></li><li><span>Proficient in Excel; experience with PowerPoint, Slack, Outlook, Business Objects, Tableau, or Power Queries / MS Power Platform a plus</span></li><li><span>Proactive, resourceful, self-starter who takes initiative  </span></li><li><span>Ability to handle pressure and demanding workload on reporting days  </span><span>  </span></li><li><span>Must be able to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the minimum duration of January – June</span></li><li><span>US citizenship required</span></li></ul><br><br><p class="job-description-header">Who You'll Work With</p><p><span>You will collaborate across a wide range of teams within BCG. The VBP Finance team provides financial and strategic support to help senior leaders make informed decisions on running, growing, and improving our North America business. It also partners with a wide range of internal teams such as legal, commercial, accounting, global controller, and various subsets of NAMR Finance / FP&A.</span></p><p><br><span>Our team is recognized for strong expertise, technical proficiency, problem solving, business partnering, teaming, and customer service.</span></p><br><br><p class="job-description-header">Additional info</p><p><span>This role is based in Boston at the BCG Seaport office, a modern workspace that includes complimentary snacks and a full-service barista bar. The VBP Finance Intern will join a collaborative, fast paced team that prioritizes culture, affiliation, and a team-centric growth mindset. The team operates under a hybrid work model, with in-person expected 3x/week.  Northeastern has been a strong talent pipeline for the team - several current team members started as co-ops.</span></p><p> </p><p><span><span>The hourly rate for this role is </span><span>$21</span><span> per hour; placement will vary based on experience, skill set, and location.</span></span></p><br><br><p>Boston Consulting Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
