Job Description

  • Executes functional and reliability tests for mechanics according to the specification;
  • Creates test setups and fixtures in alignment with the reliability engineers;
  • Executes component analysis in the internal lab (e.g. thermal shock, etc);
  • Coordinates the processes for testing in external test laboratories (e.g. CT scan, etc);
  • Documents test setup and tests results;
  • Performs initial analysis of test results and communicates it to the relevant colleagues (e.g. reliability engineer);
  • Ensures quality and repeatability of measurement equipment and test setups;
  • Act with compliance to the applicable safety standards and maintenance of the internal mechanical lab;
  • Coordinates the availability of test equipment in alignment with the team;
  • Coordinates test equipment maintenance and calibration;
  • Coordinates parts deliveries and collection when need (shipment management).

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Mechanical Testing Methods:
    • Tensile, compression, hardness, fatigue, impact, and vibration tests.
    • Familiarity with standards (e.g. ISO, ASTM, EN).
  • Equipment Operation:
    • Proficiency in using universal testing machines, hardness testers, and other mechanical test equipment.
    • Calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
  • Data Collection & Analysis:
    • Accurate measurement and recording of test results.
    • Use of software for data acquisition and analysis (e.g. Excel or specialized tools).
  • Report Writing:
    • Preparing clear and detailed test results.
  • Safety Procedures:
    • Knowledge of workplace safety standards.
    • Proper handling of hazardous materials and high-load equipment.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Following SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures) and quality control protocols.
    • Detecting anomalies and reporting deviations.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Precision in measurements and setup.
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Troubleshooting equipment or test inconsistencies.
  • Communication:
    • Collaborating with engineers and production teams.
