Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based data pipelines that ensure high data availability, quality, and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Governance and Analytics, contributing to robust data engineering standards and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines in a cloud environment
  • Perform peer code reviews and participate in data pipeline validation and verification activities
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering standards, processes, and best practices
  • Support internal customers by ensuring data availability, data quality, and optimal pipeline and dashboard performance
  • Develop and maintain data quality frameworks, concepts, and tooling
  • Collaborate with the Data Governance team to support the rollout and adoption of data quality concepts and tools

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Experience

  • Proven experience working on data engineering projects in a professional environment
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining data pipelines in the cloud
  • Experience working with large datasets and distributed data processing

Technical Skills

  • High proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Strong hands-on experience with PySpark
  • Experience with Azure Databricks is a strong plus
  • Solid understanding of software development principles (e.g., SOLID, clean code, version control)

Soft Skills & Attributes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail, especially regarding data quality and reliability
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Languages

  • English: Fluent (spoken and written)
