Role Overview:

Join a team focused on safeguarding Booking.com's interests and enabling our Accommodation Partners to operate compliantly in the rapidly evolving Short-Term Rental (STR) space.

This is a vital Regulatory Specialist role within the STR Compliance team, a part of the Regulatory Go-To-Market function. You will join a team of 6 professionals to provide essential support for the Short-Term Rental (STR) Compliance topic. Your primary mission will be clearing a significant backlog of approximately 200 end-to-end (E2E) compliance projects required to meet regulatory and Go-to-Market (GTM) needs. This role offers the chance to work closely with Data Analytics, Product, and Technical teams, gaining exposure to complex and impactful E2E launches of new regulations, and collaborating with diverse functional backgrounds (e.g., Customer Service, Local Partner Services Enablement, Legal team).

 

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

You will be responsible for the core operational and project execution required to maintain compliance across our platform:

  • Data & Reporting: Run SQL queries, perform data extraction, and process reports (e.g., from Tableau) to create required data outputs and support periodic government-required reporting.

  • Compliance & Validation: Conduct manual license monitoring and validation, as well as internal investigations based on government or internal requests.

  • Operational Support: Resolve inbound property-related requests (e.g., closures and reopenings), including processing bulk requests from local offices and customer service.

  • Project Execution: Support the team by raising JIRA tickets, executing agreed tasks, and maintaining/updating key project outputs and documentation within set SLAs.

  • Project Management: Take ownership of smaller end-to-end (E2E) compliance projects, including their execution, monitoring, and controlling.

  • Analysis Support: Assist Senior Regulatory Specialists and Regulatory Leads with data requests to analyze the impact and success of license implementations.

Role Qualifications and Requirements:

We are looking for an accurate, data-oriented team player who has an affinity for data and is eager to learn about querying and structuring reports.

  • Experience: At least 1 to 2 years of professional experience in operations or project management.
  • Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Technical Skills: Strong spreadsheet skills, including experience with Excel/Google Sheet formulas, charts, Pivot tables, and VLOOKUP. Familiarity with Google suite and/or MS Office.
  • Good to Have
  • Relevant Experience: Prior experience in compliance roles or operations.
  • Tools: Familiarity with JIRA, SQL, and Tableau.
