Role Description: CS Finance & Control’s vision is to serve as CS’s financial and risk gatekeeper. The Compliance, Risk & Control team leads risk management and guides CS through evolving regulations to identify and mitigate risks, protecting both the business and customers.

This role sits within the Compliance and Risk Management team, part of the CS Compliance, Risk & Control team, within the CS Finance & Control department. This position reports to the CS Compliance, Risk & Control Team Leader.

The core focus of the role is to review CS Payment Escalations according to established guidelines and chip in to the Payment Compliance backlog to prevent payment fraud. Success in this role requires strong attention to financial detail, accuracy, and sustained focus during repetitive tasks. Daily work follows Booking.com’s guidelines and procedures, and must be traceable, auditable, and aligned with agreed standards.

 

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Review CS Payment Escalations in line with existing guidance and internal policies;

  • Contribute to the Payment Compliance backlog staying within the indicators;

  • Use a combination of manual investigation and automated tools to analyze various data, based on the TL request;

  • Perform daily, weekly data analysis for CS payment compliance review;

  • Provide feedback to CS Operations and CS Finance team members with regard to payment review processes;

  • Contribute to CS payment process related risk identification while maintaining focused on a positive customer experience;

  • Work effectively with team members, sharing ideas with peers and TL in a constructive and positive manner to improve the CS payment process.

  • Temporary 7 month contract

 

Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional EMEA language a plus

  • Strong attention to financial details (currencies, amounts) with high accuracy and compliance adherence

  • Able to stay focused and productive on repetitive work (e.g., reviewing 40–50 cases/day)

  • Fast at learning and following guidelines/procedures

  • Curious, proactive, and confident assessing and challenging risks

  • Experience in international, dynamic environments; Booking.com CS standards familiarity is a plus

  • Strong teammate with high integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism

  • Sound decision-making, self-discipline, and trustworthiness

  • Strong computer skills and ability to prioritize backlogs and requests with clear communication

  • Flexible, self-starter who works independently while raising suspicious/atypical cases appropriately
