JOB TITLE: Custodian
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: (1) First Shift 8 hr. days: (Monday- Friday, & some weekends) Willing to work overtime at a moment’s notice, and work until the job is completed•
Summary
This position is responsible for keeping the building in a clean and orderly condition. This position performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls / glass and removing trash and debris. Duties also include break area and restroom cleaning.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Housekeeping-Cleaning and maintain the health and safety standards for Bonnell (includes unpleasant cleaning tasks)
- Operate Floor Sweeper
- Empty / Dump Trash
- Clean First Aid Station / Area
- Maintain Scrap roll-off
- Launder gloves, armguards etc.
- Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Line Leaders, and co-workers
- Keep work area clean and safe
- Inform supervisor of any health, safety or equipment concerns
- Work without constant supervision at a good pace
- Have an acute awareness of conditions and hazards associated with the job
- Forklift and overhead crane awareness
- Complete training for Bloodborne Pathogens
- These duties may require the temporary transfer to another department
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.

Medium to heavy physical demands, frequent lifting, carrying parts, stooping, kneeling, balancing, reaching, walking and pushing loaded carts
Operate small hand tools and power tools
Basic math skills
Comfortable working with and around chemicals
Work with noisy equipment
Complete safety training and operate a forklift
