Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking a Quality Manager, reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, to join the Quality Organization working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba office.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting divisional targets including developing programs that promote continuous improvements of productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

  • Provides technical direction and guidance regarding approved processes, tools, technology and skills for own projects or processes. Ensures workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements. Provides approval of workgroup technical approaches, products and processes. May make airworthiness determinations on behalf of the company and regulatory agencies

  • Develops workgroup, project or operational plans, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with Company vision/strategy. Measures progress, making adjustments as needed. Holds direct reports accountable for achieving goals. Monitors appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.

  • Performs such research as benchmarking to industry standards, analyzes and compiles performance reports and process control statistics in order to determine and improve process capability or product quality.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve work-related products and processes within own workgroup, project or process. Engages and empowers employees to make process improvements.

  • Conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or process goals. Proactively communicates with employees, peers (e.g., fellow first-level managers) and customers. Keeps others informed by communicating project status, conducting and participating in team meetings, providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and suggestions. Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.

  • Manages employees who evaluate and ensure that products, services and processes comply with customer contract requirements, engineering requirements, company procedures and government regulations.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Winnipeg, Manitoba facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Quality

  • Experience working within quality systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), or Aerospace Standard (AS9100)

  • Demonstrate leadership experience, i.e. lead, manager or supervisor in a formal or informal capacity

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally

  • Must be able to work evening shift and weekend support as per business requirement

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods

  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • 2+ years of management experience with responsibility for direct reports

  • 3+ years of experience within the aerospace/ aviation industry

  • Experience in building strong relationships with partners, customers and suppliers in a cross-functional setting

  • Experience in evaluating, planning, analyzing, and developing quality tools, techniques and methods

  • Experience in dealing with personnel matters including recruitment, employee development and mentorship, performance evaluation and coaching

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, organizational, decision-making, analytical, strategic planning and problem-solving skills

  • A Technical Bachelor's degree or Technologist Diploma in related field

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.

Salary base pay range – $114,500 - $138,500 CAD
