Boeing is seeking a Mid-Level Vibration Test and Evaluation Engineer to join the team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will provide test support to development / risk reduction and qualification test activities on the SLS Program. The role will support test planning and execution activities in the field of Vibration, Shock, Acoustics, and other environmental testing.

The primary work will be performed at Boeing and NASA facilities in Huntsville, with occasional travel requirements to support testing at various test locations.

NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) will provide a critical heavy-lift capability powering people and cargo beyond our moon and into deep space. SLS launches larger payloads farther in our solar system, faster than ever before possible. It will be the most powerful rocket ever built, enabling diverse exploration, science and security missions. Boeing Space Launch System is responsible for the design, development, test and production for the core stage and avionics of the SLS.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and documents standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity

  • Leads the development of test procedures

  • Conducts Testing in accordance with approved procedures and processes

  • Applies lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures

  • Supports test fixture design

  • Guides others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements

  • Oversees debriefing of the test team

  • Leads the analysis, processing and formatting of data to customer requirements

  • Approves test data prior to delivery to customer

  • Formulates expectations for test data based on historical data

  • Performs functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity

  • Trains others

  • Works under general direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 5+ years of experience in test planning and execution

  • 2+ years test experience focused in the field of vibration, shock or acoustics

  • Ability to travel domestically as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience interfacing with and presenting to senior and/or executive leadership

  • Experience in selecting lab test instrumentation such as accelerometers, microphones, pressure transducers, etc.

Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3):  $98,600 – $133,400
