The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Senior Quality Manager (Level L) to support the Fabrication Quality Team in Auburn and Puyallup, WA.
The Senior Quality Manager will be a reliable and competent professional who possesses the ability to work well across diverse groups and effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries. They will be a problem solver who relies heavily on data and analysis to drive decisions and a leader who can effectively implement solutions in an ever-evolving environment. The candidate will lead and support improving the Quality Management System and Quality Improvement initiatives in Fabrication Quality.
Transformational leadership skills will be necessary to build team engagement and lead quality team members in implementing key initiatives. The successful candidate will drive implementation of new and innovative approaches including advanced process and production oversight methods and new inspection and data technologies. The ideal candidate will exhibit resilience and tenacity in implementing improvements in an established and regulated production and quality system while effectively partnering with functional counterparts.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads the Manufacturing Business Unit (MBU) Quality organization
Oversight of functions and activities that affect product quality with a Total Quality perspective
Leads change and improvement across the production system and quality system
Leads, engages, motivates and guides the MBU quality team
Ensures the reliability and consistency of business unit processes
Understands customers’ requirements and ensure they are satisfied
Facilitates proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
Teaches and uses structured problem-solving methods to resolve issues and drive improvement
Understands and teaches current standards, policies and requirements
Communicates with internal and external regulatory and compliance officials and support onsite audits
Champions key initiatives including six sigma, analytics-based decision-making, forward-looking measures, APQP, standardized work and structured problem solving
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Puyallup or Auburn, WA.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years' experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and business partners
5+ years' experience in a leadership role, leading teams or projects to successful completion
5+ years' experience with Quality, Engineering or Operations leading managers/teams in Operations and/or Quality position
5+ years' experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Must be flexible to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years’ experience with Quality Management Systems and/or the One Boeing Production System (One BPS)
3+ years in Boeing Fabrication businesses or related experience
3+ years of experience with team building, developing and motivating employees.
1+ years of experience using structured problem-solving methods (BPSM, DMAIC, 6-Sigma)
Bachelors Degree in related field
