Principal duties of this position include:

  • Development and maintenance of Merchandise Terminal Playbooks; develop rigorous analytical tools to identify terminal capability and primary bottlenecks; collaborate with multiple parties such as Transportation field leadership, Service Design, CIT, Marketing, and Engineering Services to gain broad alignment; communication with senior leaders to highlight risks and opportunities
  • Development and maintenance of analytical tools and simulation models for terminal, line, and hub capability
  • Identification of capital and operating strategies to enable efficiency and growth

  • Detailed knowledge of BNSF’s operations

  • Ability to build and structure presentations at all levels internal / external

QUALIFICATIONS: 

                       

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Logistics, Engineering, or another quantitative field
  • At least three years of relevant work experience in either terminal operations or data analysis and modeling
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to examine/evaluate complex issues
    • Preferred analytical skillsets include knowledge of SQL, Python, SAS, Power BI or Simulation
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of BNSF measurement systems and data
  • Familiarity, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of tools
  • Familiarity with BNSF’s geographic network and the Transportation Service Plan
  •  

Required for SB 31 consideration (in addition to requirements listed above):

  • Master’s degree in Management, Logistics, Engineering, or another quantitative field

or

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in either terminal operations or data analysis and modeling
