Join a pioneering team shaping the future of Canadian Retail Credit Strategies.

We’re building next-generation, end-to-end credit solutions that span the entire lifecycle—from acquisition and account management to collections—anchored in a holistic Lending Decision Strategy and aligned with Canadian Personal & Business Banking (P&BB) priorities.

Our approach combines cutting-edge decisioning software, advanced decision trees, and innovative credit models to deliver smarter, faster, and more customer-centric outcomes. This is your opportunity to influence credit cycles using modern modeling techniques and best-in-class decisioning applications, all within a high-performance, customer-focused environment.

If you’re passionate about leveraging data, technology, and strategy to transform lending decisions and drive meaningful impact across Canadian P&BB, this is the team for you.

The Manager, Business Banking Lending Acquisition supports the design, enhancement, and execution of credit acquisition strategies across the full suite of Business Banking lending products. This role blends analytical capability, credit‑risk understanding, and hands‑on strategy implementation to drive high‑quality credit growth, improve adjudication consistency, and support portfolio resilience.

Working closely with Product, Risk, Credit Adjudication, Technology, Analytics, Distribution, and Operations, the Manager helps develop scalable acquisition strategies that are data‑driven, operationally sound, and aligned with Business Banking’s growth objectives and risk appetite. The role contributes to decision‑logic development, experimentation, performance monitoring, and strategy refinement across digital, branch, and advisor‑led channels.

Key Responsibilities

Acquisition Strategy Support & Optimization

  • Support the development, refinement, and execution of end‑to‑end Business Banking lending acquisition strategies across all channels.

  • Assist in enhancing segmentation, decision logic, and credit pathways using rule‑based or decision‑tree platforms.

  • Ensure strategy components support objectives related to growth, profitability, client experience, and credit‑risk appetite.

Adjudication Strategy Support Across Channels

  • Contribute to the calibration of adjudication strategies across digital, branch/advisor, centralized underwriting, and specialized credit teams.

  • Help ensure adjudication logic balances efficiency, decision quality, and risk integrity.

  • Support cross‑channel alignment while enabling appropriate routing, tiering, and referral structures.

Model Use & Credit Intelligence

  • Incorporate risk models, credit scores, behavioural indicators, financial ratios, and other analytical signals into acquisition decision paths.

  • Support proper interpretation of model outputs and work with model developers and Risk partners to ensure alignment with model governance.

Analytical Insights & Innovation

  • Conduct analyses to identify opportunities to improve segmentation, predictive power, decision quality, approval consistency, and booking yield.

  • Provide insights on key funnel metrics including approval rates, decline/refer patterns, booking quality, and product‑mix shifts.

  • Support ideation and evaluation of new acquisition pathways and analytical tools.

Champion–Challenger Testing

  • Support the design and execution of structured test‑and‑learn experiments across new treatments, adjudication pathways, or decision rules.

  • Track test performance and provide insights used to refine or scale successful strategies.

Technology, Deployment & Execution Partnership

  • Translate acquisition strategy logic into deployable decision rules in partnership with Technology, Analytics, and Underwriting teams.

  • Participate in UAT, system validation, and change‑management routines to ensure accuracy, operational readiness, and compliance.

  • Maintain documentation related to rule‑sets, strategy design, and deployment requirements.

Acquisition Funnel Monitoring & Insights

  • Monitor acquisition funnel performance, including approval rates, booking quality, declines/referrals, early‑life risk behaviour, and competitive dynamics.

  • Surface insights on emerging patterns, client behaviour, and product shifts to support proactive strategy adjustments.

Governance, Policy & Regulatory Alignment

  • Ensure acquisition strategies comply with credit policy, regulatory requirements, adjudication standards, and model‑governance expectations.

  • Support documentation, validation, and oversight processes, including policy reviews, control assessments, and audit requirements.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with Product, Risk, Adjudication, Distribution, and Operations to support aligned, scalable, and well‑governed acquisition decisions.

  • Provide clear, concise analytical updates and recommendations to partners and leaders.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in Business Banking lending, adjudication, credit strategy, or acquisition‑focused risk management.

  • Strong foundational understanding of business credit risk, financial analysis, and small‑to‑mid‑market lending fundamentals.

  • Experience working with or interpreting credit risk models, behavioural indicators, scores, or segmentation tools.

  • Exposure to decision engines, decision‑tree platforms, or optimization tools (e.g., FICO, SAS, ML scoring systems).

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities across Product, Risk, Technology, and Operations.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting cross‑functional initiatives in Business Banking.

  • Experience working with funnel analytics, MIS reporting, or production decisioning platforms.
