POSITION SUMMARY:

The Research Assistant (RA) will provide research, data analysis, and administrative support for the implementation science and qualitative components of a multi-site study examining strategies to implement antibiotic stewardship in two large hospital systems. The RA will code qualitative data collected from site visits, conduct qualitative analysis, conduct literature review, and participate in development of manuscripts for publication. Candidates should have an interest in infectious diseases, qualitative research methods, and some exposure and preferably experience with qualitative coding and basic quantitative data analysis.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates and assists with qualitative coding and data analysis.
  • Maintains and updates extensive databases. Verifies the accuracy and validity of data entered into databases. Corrects any errors.
  • Assists senior researchers with data analysis.
  • Provides assistance with the preparation of project related reports, manuscripts, and presentations. Conducts internet-based and library research.
  • The RA will perform other research and administrative duties as needed.
  • Must adhere to all of BMC's RESPECT behavioral standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year of clinical research experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Organizational ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and to prioritize duties.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and reporting (in words, numbers and graphics). 
  • Experience using quantitative data analysis software helpful (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Minitab).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat/Reader, web browsers, and statistical software
  • Excellent organizational skills, including strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively

This position is grant funded through 9/2026. There may be opportunity beyond this grant funding for position integration into ongoing operations.

Compensation Range:

$15.14- $21.15

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
