The Opportunity

BlueScope Distribution is looking for a Sales Manager - Long Products & Renewables to join our National Sales Team. This role has flexibility to be located in any of our east coast metro sites – Westall (Clayton South), Western Sydney (Granville or Marsden Park) or Brisbane (Eagle Farm).  BlueScope Distribution is a single-source provider of product, processing and service solutions in steel and aluminium product. The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification. BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.

This is a pivotal role driving profitable growth in revenue and margin across long products and renewable energy segments.  

You’ll lead the charge in developing and executing national sales strategies, building strong relationships with key customers, and positioning Distribution ASP as a trusted partner in major projects, from infrastructure and transport to wind and solar energy.

What Will You Do?

As a strategic sales leader, you will:

  • drive growth: develop and implement national sales strategies to increase volume and margin in long products and renewables
  • build customer value: establish strong relationships with key accounts and industry stakeholders, delivering tailored solutions that meet evolving market needs
  • enable opportunities: identify and secure new business in target segments such as infrastructure, defence, transport, and renewable energy
  • lead excellence: support state sales teams in achieving sales excellence through coaching, mentoring, and best-practice account management
  • collaborate for success: work closely with marketing, technical, and customer service teams to deliver a seamless customer experience
  • innovate and influence: represent Distribution ASP at industry events and forums, shaping conversations around sustainable steel solutions

More About You

You’re an experienced sales professional with a passion for building meaningful customer partnerships and driving growth. You bring:

  • proven success in sales and business development, ideally in steel or industrial sectors
  • strong commercial acumen and understanding of pricing, margin, and profitability
  • experience in renewable energy markets and infrastructure projects
  • excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders
  • familiarity with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making.
  • a collaborative mindset and ability to work across diverse teams and functions
