Under direct supervision, the Material Handler 1 operates forklifts or other mobile equipment to perform routine moving, staging, loading or unloading of materials, supplies or products within or near plant, yard, warehouse or work site.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Transports raw materials, supplies, products and/or finished goods to and from storage or production lines and places them in designated area. 80% of job.
Completes all necessary paperwork and transactions, including scanning requirements. 5% of the job.
Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities. 10% of the job.
Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned. 5% of job.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent, or attain ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level.
Preferred Education & Experience Qualifications
3+ months of experience operating mobile equipment in a manufacturing or shipping environment
Mobile equipment certification
Technical Skills & Competencies
Basic computer skills
Time Management – prioritizing work to meet internal and/or external customer demands
Detail Oriented – ensures accuracy of product and documentation to meet internal and/or external customer demands
Good communication skills
Mobile equipment operations skills
