About this role
BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant.
Pay: $20.30 - $30.10/Hr
Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential
Schedule:
Day Shift: 7a - 6p
Night Shift: 6p - 5a
4 days on, 4 days off
As a Triage Veterinary Assistant, you will:
Intake and Triage of Incoming Patients
Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
Comfortable taking vitals, including accurately counting heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
Client communication and education
Perform consistent rechecks, chart vital sign trends and client updates.
Constant communication with intaking doctor to ensure prompt and proper patient care
Stocking and cleaning as needed
Monitor the waiting/exam room clients; assist with refreshments/marketing materials; update clients on wait time/patient status
Maintain open communication with the doctor and technical staff to minimize wait times and maximize patient flow regarding long wait times
Manage Cornerstone/Instinct hospital census

What you'll do
- As a Triage Veterinary Assistant, you will intake and triage incoming patients, report on their condition, and ensure proper patient care through constant communication with the medical team. You will also manage client communication and assist in maintaining a smooth workflow in the hospital.
