We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our Operations team as a Tournament Supervisor. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of youth sports tournaments, fostering a safe and enjoyable environment for players, coaches, officials, and spectators.

Paid training sessions. Seasonal, Part-time (March through October)

Pay: $15.00/hr

Responsibilities:

Oversee the overall operations of assigned tournaments.

Ensure adherence to tournament schedules, rules, and regulations.

Ensure games start on time and are conducted in accordance with tournament guidelines.

Enforce player safety rules and promote sportsmanship among participants.

Effectively communicate with coaches, officials, and players regarding rule interpretations and game decisions.

Address concerns and facilitate clear communication channels during the tournament.

Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient use of facilities.

Assist in resolving logistical issues related to venue and equipment.

Maintain accurate records of game scores and player statistics.

Compile and organize tournament-related data for reporting purposes.

Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents that may occur during games.

Implement appropriate protocols to address unforeseen situations.

QualificationsQualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Prior experience in a supervisory role or working with youth sports is preferred, but not mandatory.

Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings. Some tournaments may extend into weekdays.

Strong knowledge of, or the ability to learn, youth sports rules and regulations.

Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.

Must pass a background check.

Complete required training sessions to ensure familiarity with tournament protocols.

Blue Valley Rec is a separate entity; the Board of Education certifies the Commission’s budget and appoints commissioners. The great partnership with the Blue Valley School District allows Blue Valley Rec to contain costs to patrons.
