Analyst position on a 10 person team. Ownership of Blackstone’s books and records for management companies (investment advisors) for multiple business units.

The successful candidate will need to develop a wide network internally and own the management companies of multiple businesses, balancing multiple priorities with tight deadlines; taking ownership and proactively using relevant resources are critical to success. 

Responsibilities

  • Full accounting and reporting responsibilities for advisor entities

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent processes with other businesses in MCA

  • Collaborate with Fund Finance and Treasury to ensure timely and accurate cash forecasting

  • Exemplify team culture of drive, teamwork, and high performance

  • Quarter-end public company reporting deliverables

  • Extensive interaction with all areas and levels throughout Finance, including Treasury, Tax, Ops, Fund Finance, FP&A, Consolidation

  • Extensive interaction with auditors during the year-end audit; SOX Compliance

  • Manage offshore resources to assist with all monthly & quarterly deliverables

  • Daily and monthly journal entry bookings and related reconciliations

  • Cash reconciliations and relevant journal entries

  • Inter-company reconciliation and settlement of outstanding balances

  • Balance sheet review and sign-off of relevant accounts

  • Oversee invoicing of fees and expenses to funds, portfolio companies, or other counterparties, coordinating with deal teams and fund operations as necessary

  • Revenue booking, analysis, and forecasting

  • Review of overhead allocations

  • Expense booking, analysis and forecasting

  • Periodic internal reporting

Experience / Skills

  • Accounting degree or strong GAAP accounting knowledge is required

  • CPA or public accounting experience a plus

  • Strong analytical & interpersonal skills are required

  • Superior MS Excel skills are required; Oracle/Essbase a plus

  • Alternative asset management experience is a plus

  • Attention to detail and multi-tasking skills are critical

  • Highly motivated, adaptable, results-oriented individual with a strong sense of urgency and commitment

Expected annual base salary range:

$90,000 - $125,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
