Blackstone’s Finance group is seeking an experienced and highly skilled professional for a promising opportunity as a vice president on the Accounting Strategy & Policy team for the firm. This role will partner closely with the Head of Accounting Strategy & Policy to drive firmwide accounting and reporting initiatives for Blackstone Inc., oversee daytoday team operations, and enhance overall execution, team culture, and impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify accounting policy issues and develop practical solutions. Advise internal clients on appropriate accounting treatment, particularly with respect to accounting for new and complex products and transactions, across both GAAP and non-GAAP / metric reporting perspective.  Internal partners include shareholder relations, FP&A, business development, valuation, legal & compliance, and controllership.  
  • Provide structuring advice for new and complex products and transactions with emphasis on consolidation, financial instruments, revenue recognition, compensation and valuation. 
  • Lead cross-functional projects to design, and enhance and implement accounting policies, processes, and controls.
  • Provide accounting and finance advice to deal teams and portfolio companies across all Blackstone businesses.
  • Manage and develop a team of three; support talent development, hiring, and overall team planning. 
  • Monitor relevant US GAAP accounting standard setting at the Financial Accounting Standards Board, rule-making at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), IFRS accounting standard setting at the International Accounting Standards Board and related interpretations from Big 4 accounting firms. Assess applicability to Blackstone and our portfolio companies and lead implementation of new standards, rules, or interpretations related to US GAAP and non-GAAP measures.
  • Support firmwide compliance with SEC independence rules by coordinating with accounting firms, business units and portfolio companies, developing training materials, and designing policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with a Big 4 accounting firm or a combination of Big 4 and industry experience, financial services industry experience preferred
  • Deep technical accounting expertise and strong analytical skills
  • Solution-oriented, creative thinker with strong critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, reliable, detail‑oriented, and strong judgment
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic; committed to continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment

Expected annual base salary range:

$140,000 - $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
