About this role

  • General Responsibilities:

    • The principal responsibility of the supervisor is to ensure the proper cleaning and maintenance of the facility in accordance with the contract requirements.
    • Supervise staff and must provide nightly reports of completed work, set schedules and find coverage solutions when needed.
    • Needs to be proficient in computer literacy, emailing, knowledge of work order systems and shows good communication habits.
    • Provide all relevant trainings to employees.
    • Participate in monthly safety training

    Specific Responsibilities (This listing of  tasks is not all inclusive; other tasks may be assigned as needed, or only certain tasks may be assigned as your primary duty)

    Ensure all trash receptacles in designated areas are emptied in accordance with the daily work schedules; this includes our 3 yard trash dumpsters that require to be hooked up and pulled to the Salvage yard for disposal.  Supervise detailed custodial functions including floor care. Perform standard janitorial duties including dusting, detailing, vacuuming, sanitizing, waxing, buffing and stripping floors, and cleaning restrooms, common areas, and windows when personnel is absent.

    Ensure employees clean all table tops, fixtures, file cabinets, desks, dividers, partitions, elevator doors, entry doors, walls and surfaces to ensure that they are free from dust and dirt in accordance with the daily work schedules. Step in to perform such duties when personnel is absent.

    Ensure employees clean service, and police all restrooms, gyms, offices, lobby, hallways, conference rooms and manufacturing areas, stock all supply dispensers in restrooms and ensure that all shelves and surfaces are clean and dry in accordance with the daily work schedules.

    Ensure that all glass mirrors and interior and exterior doors are free from smudges, stains, discoloration, rust, mold, encrustation, excess moisture or spots. Ensure that all designated areas are vacuumed, swept, and mopped on a daily basis by personnel, as assigned.

    Performing routine checks and inspection of forklift equipment. Meet deadlines for transfer of goods and materials. Coordinate with warehouse managers for the unloading and loading of material. Maintain records of the weight, labels, and tags of all lifted goods. Manage all corresponding nightly and inspection reports and completing all customer work order request accordingly to your shift on a daily basis.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    Understand and be able to explain and enforce the employee handbook, the hazard communication program, bloodborne pathogen procedure and all safety policies and procedures.

    Physical Requirements

    • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Push and pull up to 50 lbs.
    • Stands and moves within assigned work area, or building for 6 to 7 hours (excluding breaks and lunch)
    • Some bending, stooping and reaching as necessary to complete the work
    • Availability to operate a forklift, tugger or golf cart as needed
