About this role
We’re looking for an early career or graduate level Category Analyst to join our Grocery team on a 12month fixed term contract as a leave replacement.
Purpose:
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in Category Management, FMCG, or Retail Strategy, with hands on exposure to Australia’s major grocery retailers – Woolworths and Coles.
This role reports to the Head of Category Development – Grocery and is based across our Warriewood and Surry Hills offices, with a hybrid working arrangement (3 days in office, 2 days from home).
Responsibilities include:
Support the execution of category and channel initiatives for Grocery retailers
Assist with day‑to‑day category development tasks that keep projects on track
Analyse data (sales, promotional and category related) to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities that influence decision-making.
Track and evaluate promotional activity and support post-promotions reviews.
Assist in building and updating planograms and shelf layouts to maximise product visibility.
Help forecast volumes for new product launches
Maintain and update reports, dashboards and trackers used internally and with retail partners

Who are you?
Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline
A recent graduate up to an early career professional with up to 2 years of category management, customer-facing or shopper marketing type roles within FMCG, retail, or consumer healthcare and pharmacy sectors.
Familiarity with space planning software & planogram tools will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and support commercial decision-making.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights and influence stakeholders.
