Senior Software Engineer - Dispatching

<div class="content-intro"><p><img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; max-width: 100%;" src="https://images.ctfassets.net/ov8o7v78mnye/4SRDLOzQL5KkZAuHG9ywwe/d3490410ce8fe49efe40bfe1b2cea2c4/Blacklane-Socials-NYC-20_Header_LP.jpg?fm=webp&amp;w=1980" alt="" width="100%"></p></div><p>As a<strong> Senior Software Engineer </strong>on our<strong> Dispatching Team</strong>, you will tackle some of the most complex optimization problems in our platform - directly impacting thousands of rides every day.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Our environment</strong> is composed of Ruby, Go, Typescript and Java services, designed using DDD. These services are deployed to our Kubernetes cluster and communicate via domain events using SQS and Kafka. We use diverse data storage technologies such as Postgres, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, and DynamoDB. As for infrastructure and cloud resources, we predominantly use AWS and manage provisioning through Terraform.<br><br></p> <h3><strong>YOUR CHALLENGE:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Tackle <strong>complex optimization</strong> problems where your algorithms directly influence thousands of rides daily.</li> <li>Take <strong>full ownership</strong> of problems from discovery with operations teams to scalable, production-ready solutions.</li> <li>Lead the <strong>design and implementation</strong> of new features and systems, <strong>debug and optimize</strong> existing solutions.</li> <li>Build <strong>back-office tooling</strong> for operations teams to manage ride fulfillment and chauffeur scheduling efficiently.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with product managers and operations teams to understand business needs and translate them into high-quality technical solutions.</li> <li>Lead <strong>technical initiatives</strong>, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor a talented engineering team.</li> <li>Conduct <strong>code reviews</strong> and <strong>provide feedback</strong> to ensure code quality and help your teammates grow.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3><strong>ABOUT YOU:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Senior engineer with 7+ years of experience who still codes most of the time.</li> <li>Experienced with Go, React, and Postgres, and comfortable working in Kubernetes environments.</li> <li>You're familiar with the HTTP protocol and have some experience with using and/or developing REST APIs.</li> <li>You write quality code, maintainable and follow best practices. You are familiar with at least some of the challenges of distributed systems.
