The NICU Quality and Safety Manager is  responsible for advancing quality, safety, and patient care outcomes within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This position works closely with multidisciplinary clinical and operational leaders across the organization.

Role Purpose

Manages the development and implementation of the Patient Safety and Quality programs within an HSO. Provides leadership to unit level councils and teams to manage the development and implementation of interventions to implement practices that improve the safety and care of the patients and communities we serve. Oversight, trending, and reporting of quality and safety data. Uses the data to develop and implement innovations in patient and family centered care.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Provides clinical direction, coordination and evaluation of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manages the development and implementation of interventions.
  • Develops and improves surveillance programs.
  • Design and implement medical protocols based on quality outcomes and investigation.
  • Collaborate with physician partners for quality improvement.
