About the Role:

This application is for a 12-week internship role from June - August 2026. Resume review begins in January 2026. This role is looking for 3 interns.

The Biostatistics Department in the Statistical Sciences & Evidence Generation organization provides statistical support across Research and Development. Biostatisticians in the Biostatistics Department collaborate with stakeholders from different disciplines to develop agile and robust clinical development plans and decision frameworks for a portfolio of products encompassing early and late-stage development. They also provide statistical expertise and manage the activities for clinical programs to ensure valid and efficient study designs.

What You’ll Do:

For the summer intern projects, you will be required to read and synthesize key methodology papers, efficiently develop analysis/simulation code in R or python or another statistical package, and explore results in a systematic way. Any new code should be documented and packaged in a user-friendly way, to encourage broader use in the department. A final technical write-up and presentation will be expected.

Example projects may include:

  • Using Prognostic Score Models to Enhance Long-Term Extension Analyses in Alzheimer’s Trials
  • Scaling Organizational Network Analysis (ONA): Building the Foundation for Collaboration, Efficiency, and Innovation
  • Bayesian Dynamic Borrowing in Pediatric Study 

Who You Are:

  • Experience of performing statistical analysis with R, SAS, python, or other statistical packages.
  • Knowledge or interest working in biotechnology industry.
  • Ability to translate data into business insights.

To participate in the Biogen Internship or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.

Education Requirements

  • Graduate school pursuing PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or similar.

The base compensation range for this role is: -


The actual hourly wage offered will consider the candidate’s current academic level and degree candidacy, inclusive of Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, JD, MD, PhD and MBA programs. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements specific to the job location.
