Summary

The Therapist-Certified position provides services to our patients on 4 different inpatient units. They include Adult Psychiatric, Adult Detox and Recovery, Adolescent Psychiatric and Senior Psychiatric. Job duties include completing psychosocial evaluations, developing care plans, facilitating individual, family and group therapy and completing discharge/aftercare plans.

Job Description:

Inpatient Therapist at the Certified Level provide clinical services, including psychosocial assessments and individual, family and group therapy, in accordance with established standards of care and practice. Collaborates with patients and families to develop care plans and updates them as needed. Works with the treatment team to create aftercare plans and ensures appropriate recommendations are communicated to the patient and family. The Therapist strives to confirm that each patient has a follow-up appointment, access to prescribed medications and transportation to their next provider visit.

Job Description:

Inpatient Therapists provide comprehensive psychiatric consultations, substance abuse evaluations, crisis manager and supportive consultation to patients.

  • Provides behavioral health consults to patients in the ER, SDS, ICU, OB, and inpatient medical floors.
  • Completes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation including suicide risk and determines level of care needs.
  • Staffs case with attending provider to collectively determine patient disposition.
  • Makes regular contact with licensed supervisor to ensure accurate recommendations are made to the treatment team.
  • Provides patients with resource information, connects them with the appropriate level of care providers and when appropriate coordinates direct admissions to inpatient psychiatric and detox units including but not limited to the Trillium Center at Baptist Health Corbin.
  • Take periodic on call coverage and respond in timely manner within (1) hour.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • Must hold credentials of either Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and maintain licensure and good standing with Kentucky Boards of Social Work and Professional Counseling
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
  • Preferably has experience completing psychiatric and substance use disorder assessments.
