Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Baptist Health Louisville team as our 5 South Observation Unit continues to grow. Located on the fifth floor, this 21‑bed unit supports both the Emergency Department and telemetry teams by observing low‑acuity patients for 23 to 38 hours to determine whether inpatient care is needed.
The Observation Unit Technician works in this fast‑paced environment, providing both clinical and clerical support to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
Assist with basic patient‑care tasks including vital signs, mobility, and hygiene.
Monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly report changes.
Perform clerical and unit secretary duties to support communication and workflow.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑supplied unit environment.
Demonstrate effective teamwork, communication, and adherence to safety standards.
BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
12‑Lead EKG: training available
Phlebotomy: experience preferred; training available
