About the Role


Saraji Mine located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people. Reporting to the Blast Supervisor, you will play a key role in contributing to the success of the Drill and Blast department. As a Shotfirer at Saraji, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):


Open pit charging and blasting activities in accordance with SRM SHMS and Statutory obligations. 


•    Ensuring compliance, reporting incidents and firmly maintaining safe practices. 
•    Operating blast crew equipment, LV, MV, loaders, MPU. 
•    Large variety of physical tasks, stringing, stock movement and on bench tasks. 
•    Auditing, field leadership, stocktakes, and improvement initiatives.
 

 

About you

 


Skills and Experience to be suitable for this position include:


•    Coal Board Medical and Standard 11. 
•    Current drivers licence 
•    Excellent communication skills, self-driven and able to guide and mentor blast crew.
•    Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Qualified Shotfirer.
•    MPU Operator skill/current HR.
•    Loader, Stemming truck and Dewater operating skills. 
•    QLD Shotfirer Licence. 
•    Electronic detonating systems advantages.
•    QLD Explosives Security Clearance. 
•    S1,2,3 & G2 (Supervisor)
