Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Construction and Quality Supervisor to oversee and manage the delivery of retrofit housing upgrades, alterations, and reactive commercial maintenance across multiple key contracts. Reporting to the Delivery Manager, you will work closely with both BGIS and client teams to coordinate trade services, maintain quality standards, and drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, people-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment. 🛠️

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support trade teams to achieve contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate multiple trades across projects, including hands-on work when required.
  • Oversee job allocations, respond to trade enquiries, and manage administrative requirements.
  • Conduct sign-offs, audits, and ensure compliance with client quality standards.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act on Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and implement service improvements.
  • Ensure complaints and service requests are resolved within KPI timeframes.
  • Contribute to performance reporting, customer excellence, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist senior staff with people management and fostering a positive team culture.

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar construction or trade supervision role.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical abilities.
  • Effective time management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong computer literacy and business acumen.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and customer focus.
  • Relevant building industry qualification or equivalent experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience with administration management.
  • Trade background with hands-on capability across multiple disciplines.
  • Exposure to housing upgrades, maintenance or multi-trade environments.
  • Additional relevant certifications or technical training.
  • Previous experience in large-scale or government contracts.

Workplace Flexibility

This position will be primarily based on-site at client locations. Depending on performance and operational needs, there may be an opportunity for limited hybrid flexibility once established in the role.
