As a Mobile Equipment Operator, you’ll be responsible for the safe handling and movement of utility poles and materials across our site. You'll operate front-end loaders and related equipment, ensure loads are secure, and contribute to a clean, organized yard.
Full-Time | Hourly | Sun–Thurs on 3rd Shift 10:00PM - 6:00AM — With overtime as needed
$20.60/hour (after training) + $1.00 shift differential
As a Mobile Equipment Operator, you will:
Operating heavy equipment to load and unload utility poles from trucks, trams, and railcars (Front-end Loaders, Knucklebooms, etc.)
Performing pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliability
Following work orders and loading poles with accuracy and attention to detail
Maintaining equipment cleanliness, fueling, and reporting any issues
Communicating clearly with yard staff, drivers, and supervisors
Monitoring load balance and securing materials to prevent damage
Adhering to safety standards and wearing appropriate PPE
Assisting with general yard duties as needed
Understand OSHA safety rules and work in compliance with the Bell Timber safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Identify and report any and all unsafe working conditions.
Ability to read and understand equipment startup procedures, operation procedures, shutdown procedures, and maintenance manuals.
Perform all work in compliance with company standards and procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent required
One-year technical certificate OR 3–6 months of related experience preferred
Prior experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance is strongly desired
Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
