About this role

Product Owner

Do you love technology and how it can solve problems but don’t see yourself as a software developer? Have you got that rare gift of being able to explain complex things in a way that everyone can understand?

If you answered yes to the above, then we’d love to talk to you about a career with us as a Product Owner!

What will you do?

At BearingPoint, our Product Owners are involved in all aspects of the design of IT based solutions to improve business processing efficiency and lead to increased productivity. The product owner will work closely with client representatives to understand and document their requirements and help to design an appropriate solution. They act as the liaison between the business owners and the development team involved in the delivery project. As a product owner you will design the solutions that solve our clients’ toughest challenges, so being a good communicator, both written and verbal is a must. The product owner is a key role in the Agile delivery team, and it is their job to convey the solution vision and ensure that the client goals and priorities are understood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders to define, agree, and close out business and technical requirements.

  • Facilitate workshops with large groups of stakeholders.

  • Gather and refine business and technical requirements, capturing them as user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Prioritise and manage the product backlog, ensuring that high-value items are delivered first.

  • Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and client stakeholders to ensure that delivered solutions align with the product vision and meet quality expectations.

  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog grooming, sprint planning).

  • Estimate effort and duration when assessing business requirements.

  • Support the creation of solution designs, prototypes, training materials and other key project artifacts.

About you:

  • Third level qualification in Technology or Business.

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a product owner on large systems integration projects.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (presenting, documenting, workshopping) in English.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

  • Self‑motivated with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.

  • Proven flexibility and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to quickly get up to speed and work across industries.

  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams using Agile tools, techniques, and ceremonies (e.g., user stories, backlog grooming, estimation, prioritisation, sprints, Scrum/Kanban).
