Your Opportunity

Our BDO Canada Offices are looking for an Insolvency Counsellor. This is a replacement role. The successful candidate would be joining the Personal Debt Solutions team in-office and own the following responsibilities:

  • Assist debtors and creditors, both in person and virtually, as it relates to bankruptcies and proposals
  • Perform BIA Counselling covering topics including budgeting & credit rebuilding
  • Review files/documents for review with client to ensure compliance with duties under their insolvency filing
  • Community outreach, business development and presentations

Your experience and education

  • Successful completion of CAIRP Practical course on Insolvency Counseling 
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience in an Insolvency or Credit Counseling or other relevant areas
  • Great interpersonal skills to deal with team members, debtors, and creditors
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills to respond to different situations
  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Takes personal ownership and responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • A team player who can also work independently

    The expected range of compensation for this role is $40,000 to $69,000 annually.
