About this role

Job Description Summary

Responsible for operating equipment in department safety and producing quality products per documentation. Perform quality checks, changeovers, SAP data entries, and troubleshooting. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work as one of a team for maximum effectiveness and optimal task methods, which includes product inspection, operating equipment, raw material and finished goods movements and clean room area and equipment cleaning / sanitizing

  • Perform visual inspections

  • Perform troubleshooting of equipment

  • Perform changeovers, line clearance and cleaning

  • Achieve production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment

  • Facilitate continuous operation of the equipment through breaks

  • Perform rework

  • Cross train where needed within the department to support the business

  • Maintain all quality and GMP standards

  • Perform needed SAP data entries

  • May require the use of 10x microscope, calipers, and/or other miscellaneous gauges

  • Participate on blitz teams as assigned

  • Achieving established production goals

  • Ensuring the quality of all products produced

  • Performing quality checks as designated

  • Ability to function as part of a team

  • Processing SAP and MES transactions for department

  • Assisting in the BDA process to identify root causes

  • Maintain compliance with all required document training

  • Operate lines in a safe and efficient manner

  • Drive department results by reducing downtime and completing tasks in an efficient manner

  • Maximize efficient time usage in the department

  • Ensure assigned equipment is maintained and in working order

  • Continuous learning of the processes and mechanics of the lines

  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business

Education:

  • High School diploma/GED preferred

  • In lieu of High School diploma/GED, three years manufacturing experience is required

Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

  • Previous experience with MES preferred

  • Previous experience with precision measuring instruments preferred

  • Previous mechanical experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Work effectively on own, or in a team atmosphere – Proficient

  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean and orderly work area – Proficient

  • Willingness and ability to train others - Proficient

  • Teamwork – Proficient

  • Organization skills, detailed oriented – Basic

  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English
