About the job:

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Structured Finance team as a Senior Vice President or Executive Director.  In this role, you will support the origination, structuring and execution of Asset Finance transactions, with a primary focus on aircraft and vessels.  The position will be based in either Singapore, Hong Kong or Tokyo where you will contribute to expanding our activities in the Asia-Pacific region, working closely with clients, internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver tailored financing solutions.  This position offers the opportunity to lead complex deals in a fast-paced market, contributing to the bank’s strategic objectives in sustainable and innovative asset financing.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Origination and Business Development:  identify and pursue new business opportunities in aircraft and vessel financing, including leasing, secured lending, and structured finance deals.  Build and maintain relationships with key clients, such as airlines, shipping companies, lessors, and investors, to develop a pipeline of transactions.

• Transaction Execution:  lead the end-to-end execution of deals, from initial structuring and due diligence to negotiation, documentation, and closing.  Collaborate with legal, risk, compliance, and credit teams to ensure efficient processes while mitigating risk.

• Market Research and Strategy:  monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscapes in the aviation and maritime industries.  Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on potential opportunities and risks in the sector.

• Client Relationship Management:  act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering customized financing solutions that align with their strategic goals.  Foster long-term partnerships to drive repeat business and referrals.

• Team Collaboration and Leadership:  mentor junior team members, contribute to cross-functional projects, and support the overall growth of the Asset Finance business.  Ensure adherence to the bank’s policies, ESG principles, and international standards in all transactions.

• Risk Management:  assess credit, operational, and market risks associated with asset finance deals, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies to protect the bank’s interests.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Economics or related disciplines; advanced degrees (eg. MBA, CFA, etc) or professional qualifications are highly desirable.

• 7 to 12+ years of relevant experience in Asset Finance or related roles with banking, leasing, or advisory firms.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven track record in originating and executing transactions specifically in aircraft and/or vessel financing.

• Familiarity with international financing regulations, including those relevant to aviation (eg. Cape Town Convention) and the maritime sectors.

• Additional experience in Project Finance (e.g., power, infrastructure, or TMT) or specialized Structured Finance products is highly desirable.

• Strong expertise in deal structuring, financial modelling, credit analysis.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship building abilities.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines 

• Willingness to travel within the Asia-Pacific region and occasionally to Europe.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and AI analytical tools

Language

• Fluent in spoken and written English. Spanish or Japanese (or other Asian languages) will be viewed favourably.
