Cardiology Procedure Scheduler:
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling cardiac procedures at area hospitals.
- Coordinating pre-procedure testing.
- Obtaining insurance authorization for cardiac procedures from patient's insurance carrier.
- Completing detailed and accurate procedure packets.
- Working closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to coordinate procedures based on acuity.
- Developing and maintaining open lines of communication with hospital procedure schedulers in various departments.
- Updating and maintaining physician procedure calendars.
- Working directly with patients to coordinate procedures, review details about the procedures and provide pre & post procedure instruction.
- Coordinating post procedure follow-up.
- Answering incoming calls from patients, providers and hospital staff.
- Detailed and accurate documentation in the EMR.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills.
- Minimum 1 year of experience required, preferably in a medical office.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate up to date knowledge of the profession and industry
- Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
- Must be willing to travel between sites as needed
