Job Description:
OALA Transportation Assistants will facilitate an accessible and equitable learning environment at Baylor University by aiding students with temporary or permanent mobility disabilities navigate campus by shuttling students via OALA golf carts.
OALA Transportation Assistants are required to maintain safe driving habits at all times, pass Baylor's Golf Cart training, respect OALA property, among other duties.
Qualifications Required: be a Baylor University full-time student eligible for work-study and have a valid driver's license for over two years.
Pay will be provided bi-weekly at a rate of $10 per hour worked.
The hired student will be responsible for driving the OALA Golf Carts to transport students to and from classes during business hours. Student must be at least 18 years of age and must have been licensed to drive for at least 2 years. A basic understanding of the campus layout is required.
Drivers will be required to complete safety training, driver onboarding, and basic operations of a golf cart before duties will be assigned. Driver must be punctual, attentive, and capable of communicating with supervisors and team in a reasonable time frame. Excellent customer service is a must! Driver will operate golf carts in all seasons of weather, unless otherwise restricted by BU's weather and safety team.
Current Schedule Needs:
Opening Shifts: 7:30am
Mid day/flexible schedules throughout the week: Various needs between 8:00am and 4:00pm
Closing shifts: None
Weekends: None
- Provide transportation services for assigned area of responsibility
- Demonstrate a high-level of responsibility and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures
- Utilize appropriate resources to perform duties accordingly
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
