Job Description:

Learning Lab Graduate Student Worker Job Purpose: This position is to staff the Learning Lab located in the Tutoring Center (Sid Richardson Building, First Floor). The Learning Lab is designed to provide academic assistance to students needing help with executive functioning, study strategies, time management, test preparation, etc. Students may make appointments and/or drop by the Learning Lab at any time during open hours, which are Monday through Thursday, 11a to 4p. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

•    Provides guidance to students on topics like time management, test preparation, making study tools, note-taking, reading comprehension, etc. 

•    Connects students to appropriate on-campus resources (tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, academic mentoring, etc.) based on the student’s needs

•    Utilizes the Navigate Kiosk platform to check students in and out of Learning Lab and creates appointment summaries to record each student’s reason for visiting 

•    Organizes and restocks Learning Lab materials 

•    Gives classroom and residence hall presentations on study-related topics (will be assigned by the line manager as presentations are requested by faculty/staff) 

•    Creates presentations and other materials to be distributed in the Learning Lab and other campus events

•    Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance 

•    Strong interpersonal and written communication skills 

•    Organization skills
