What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Director of Ministry for Life and Strategic Partnerships. This position supports the mission by launching and leading the Ministry for Life initiative funded by a grant awarded by the Lilly Foundation. The role will manage the planning and execution of all grant initiatives as well as the disbursement of funds with collaborating partners, as outlined in the grant proposal. Affiliated Faculty status may be possible for qualified and approved candidates.

A Doctoral degree and five years of relevant work experience are required. A Doctoral degree and eight years of relevant work experience are preferred. 

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. 

What You Will Do

  • Maintain and grow working relationships within Baylor University and externally with partner institutions to develop new educational initiatives
  • Provide direction and build trusting relationships with a team, including the Ministry for Life collaborating partners, and seminary faculty and staff
  • Provide general support for project activities in partnership with denominational and institutional collaborators, which includes collaborating with executive pastors of churches to develop MOUs (or agreements) for student residencies
  • Manage staff within withing the Ministry for Life Program, which includes directing work or operations, workforce planning, as well as authority for hiring/firing, training, and development of staff, making decisions regarding pay, performance and disciplinary action in conjunctions with functional partners
  • Communicate with the Lilly Endowment Inc. and Pathways for Tomorrow Leadership Teams
  • Gather, analyze, and report relevant program data and milestones through proper channels
  • Maintain overall financial oversight and disbursement of grant funds
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
