Detailed Location: Home Base: Plano Regional   

  • On call Phlebotomy float to the following BSW facilities
  • Plano Regional, Heart Plano, Lake Pointe, Centennial, McKinney Regional.

JOB SUMMARY

The Phlebotomist 3 collects and processes quality specimens in a safe manner as outlined in BSWH policies and procedures. Aids in the delivery of exceptional patient care. Assists with training and auditing of behaviors and performance, as assigned. Provides leadership and knowledge to others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Follows all established specimen collection, labeling, transportation, and handling procedures.

Responsible for high customer satisfaction through professional and ethical conduct.

Performs job responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner.

Demonstrates engagement with achieving department goals with a focus on continuous improvement.

Assist in communicating technical and general information in a professional and constructive manner.

Coordinates staff to meet patient and departmental need.

Performs clerical duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent

- EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
       Donor Phlebotomy Tech-ASCP (DPT), Phlebotomy Technician (PBT): Must have a Phlebotomy Tech Cert from one of these agencies:
ASCP, NPA, ASPT, NCCT, NHA, AMT, NAHP, AMCA, AAH or ACA.

OR

Donor Phlebotomy Tech certification from the ASCP.
