Senior DevOps Engineer
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer!
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a part of Bayer's Customer Engagement Team. You will work on improving our 'System and Data Integration Capabilities'.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform.
- Develop infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, containerization, and orchestration using tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Setup, maintain and operate a cross-team collaboration platform using Backstage.
- Design and develop CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions to enable seamless deployment of applications and services.
- Lead the implementation of automated testing and continuous integration processes to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Lead the setup and configuration of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to understand their needs and provide DevOps support.
- Provide and integrate solutions for security scanning and vulnerability assessment into the developer tool portfolio and CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure and application incidents to ensure stable operations and business continuity.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior and mid-level team members, supporting their skill development and problem-solving capabilities.
WHO YOU ARE:
- 5+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer.
- Excellent proficiency with the AWS cloud platform with a focus on infrastructure as code using Hashicorp Terraform.
- Good experience with Composable Architecture principles, especially on an API first strategy.
- Excellent proficiency with the AWS cloud platform with focus on infrastructure as code using Hashicorp Terraform and version control via Git.
- Excellent knowledge in automation with CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions.
- Excellent knowledge in Kubernetes / Docker development and operations with a focus on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and AWS Elastic Container Service.
- Good knowledge with GitOps practices and tooling, with a focus on ArgoCD (or Flux CD) for declarative applications deployment.
- Good knowledge in security concept with a focus on operations of Hashicorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, and using OpenID Connect using Microsoft Entra ID for authentication and authorization.
- Understanding key concepts behind Backstage Configurations & Operations (or similar platform) is a plus.
- Good knowledge in orchestrating AWS cloud services using AWS Step Functions, AWS Simple Queue Service and Apache Airflow.
- Good experience cloud monitoring solutions like AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus or OpenTelemetry.
