Production Coordinator 

 

Main Purpose:

 

 

  • This role is responsible for executing and managing the life cycle of process orders from creation to closed status.
  • A key successes factor is the live system (SAP & Maestro ) update of all activities related to commercial maize seed production in the country specific processing plants, ensuring compliance with all SAP processes and procedures. 

 

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

 

 

Life Cycle management of Processing Orders and Batch Management

 

 

  • Collaborate effectively with the ERD Master Data team to promote proper and complete master data setup for the respective processing plant.
  • In collaboration with the plant planner, the production coordinator will look at the planned orders in Maestro and then firm the required orders. 
  • Convert PLO to PRO’s by creating processing orders in SAP for DS-Bulk, CS-Bulk, CS-KGWB, CT-Bulk and TB in SAP for all processing sites Ethiopia
  • Manage the creation of batches (all stages) and update relevant values in batch characteristics 
  • Issue process orders to the shopfloor to work on the respective batches
  • On a weekly basis promptly set the open orders to Confirmation status having ensured that the shopfloor team have performed the requisite goods movements and conducted a mass balanced per process order per batch.
  • Participate in monthly stock counts for product supply.

 

 

Issue resolution and Error Management 

 

 

  • Actively communicate and follow-up to ensure correction of SAP errors in the system as they arise.
  • Report any deviation from SAP standards

  • Contribute to the professional development of teammates by offering continuous feedback and facilitating SAP (PP module) training.
  • Provide informational support to EMEA group colleagues regarding the SAP PP module.
  • Distribute knowledge and best practices to colleagues within the group.

 

 

Documentation and Communication

 

 

  • Maintain an archive of activities and communications related to processing documents for Tanzania processing plants and other production stations.

 

 

OnePSS and Continuous Improvement

 

  • Participate in 5S activities in the working area, ensuring compliance with standards and conducting regular audits.
  • Actively engage in TIER 3 and TIER 2 meetings in accordance with established standards.
  • Ensure data accuracy on visual boards and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Actively engage in problem-solving activities (e.g., 5 Why, Quick Kaizen) and lead assigned improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor continuous improvement suggestions related to ONEMES [HSE, quality, and efficiency using the red/blue tag system, taking action on assigned tags.
  • Take an active role in the commissioning of new applications related to the production system, serving as a role model for operators.
  • Ensure safety and internal control compliance.

Qualifications & Competencies:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in production planning or supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • SAP & MS Office packages
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar field
  • Prior experience in agricultural or seed industry is an added advantage
  • Specific Seed production, handling, or processing of Seed.
  • Fluent in English
