Description

We are seeking a dedicated Family Partner to provide peer-to-peer support and advocacy for families navigating mental health, education, and social service systems. The ideal candidate is a parent or legal guardian with lived experience supporting a child with emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs. This role involves empowering families, building strong relationships, and collaborating with service providers to ensure families receive appropriate support. 


What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference in the Lives of Families...

  • Offer peer support, guidance, and mentorship to families based on personal experience.
  • Help families navigate mental health, education, and social service systems.
  • Advocate for families' needs in school, healthcare, and community settings.
  • Provide emotional support and empower families in decision-making.
  • Facilitate parent support groups, workshops, and community outreach.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of interactions and services provided.

Requirements

Qualifications/Credentials


• Experience as a parent and/or legal guardian of a youth with special needs, and preferably a youth with mental health needs 

• Experience in navigating any of the child and family serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family serving systems 

• Experience in working collaboratively with state agencies, consumer advocacy groups, and/or behavioral health outpatient facilities 

• Knowledge of Children Requiring Assistance (CRA)-related issues 

• Good organizational and strong interpersonal skills 

• Ability to motivate others
