POSITION SUMMARY:

The Azure Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, development teams, and IT operations to ensure cloud architecture aligns with organizational goals and industry best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Architecture & Design
  • Develop and maintain Azure-based cloud architecture that meets business and technical requirements.
  • Design solutions for scalability, security, performance, and cost optimization.
• Implementation & Migration
  • Lead cloud migration projects from on-premises or other platforms to Azure.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Security & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory standards.
  • Implement identity and access management, encryption, and network security best practices.
• Performance & Cost Optimization
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Provide recommendations for reserved instances, autoscaling, and resource tagging.
• Collaboration & Leadership
  • Work closely with DevOps, application development, and infrastructure teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and developers.
• Documentation & Governance
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and governance policies.
  • Establish and enforce cloud standards and best practices.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required:    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 5 years focused on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, Monitoring).
• Experience with Azure Active Directory, Azure DevOps, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and microservices architecture.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premises integration.
• Knowledge of cost management and FinOps principles.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
