WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As an agronomist, you are responsible for conducting field trial protocols that support hybrid wheat breeding programmes. As a member of our team in Gatersleben, you are responsible for setting up, maintaining and evaluating field trials to provide high-quality data to support product development. We are seeking support for this position for two years.

 

  • In your new position, you are responsible for conducting and supervising small-plot field trials from sowing to harvest.
  • Together with other team members, you identify suitable trial sites, prepare the fields and carry out planting and plant protection measures.
  • In addition, you monitor pest and disease infestation, collect phenotypic data and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Last but not least, you take on the analysis of seed quality, the evaluation of trial data and present the results in internal meetings.
  • Safety first! You ensure compliance with EHS, stewardship and QMS guidelines and actively participate in training courses and audits.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • degree in agronomy or a related field such as crop production, weed science or agricultural systems
  • at least two years of professional experience in conducting small plot trials, ideally in the field of wheat
  • in-depth knowledge of agricultural equipment and experience with trial equipment and data collection software
  • very good knowledge of English and good German
  • driving licence class B and ideally T
  • team-oriented personality with a high degree of initiative, organisational skills and willingness to work outdoors in variable conditions
