About this role

Objectives of the Position         

  • Enhance Color matching efficiency and improve Quality in the Global Color labs
  • Advocate for change and motivate the team to embrace innovation and agility
  • Drive the use of AI and enable data-driven decisions in the Global Color Technology organization
  • Own and improve the tools & processes for Color retrieval at customers (Software algorithms, methods & equipment/spectrophotometers) from a technical perspective

Main Tasks

  • Generating, collecting, reviewing and prioritizing ideas for improvements with internal stakeholders
  • Validating ideas by conducting proof of concept for prioritized ideas and document progress in collaboration with the respective teams
  • Leading the implementation of validated ideas into internal and external software and taking care of aspects such as training and change management
  • Acting as a bridge between different departments (marketing, color science, IT development, applications) for color innovation related topics.
  • Facilitating and documenting discussions on best practices, supporting the maintenance of training material
  • If required, engaging in collaborations with universities and supervising master’s thesis students or interns to support your projects.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

  • Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Science, Engineering or IT.
  • Work Experience: 0 - 5y
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge:
    • Experience in project management in a technical environment, ideally with innovation focus
    • AI and machine learning: experience in applying machine learning models, AI and/or big data analysis to technical problems. Ability to stay up to speed with technical trends and advancements in AI/ML.
    • Willingness to work in a global team and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders in different locations and time zones
    • Basic understanding of color science and color matching theory
    • Basic understanding of digital transformation
    • Understanding of pigmentation and optical physics is beneficial but not required
    • Experience with patents and intellectual property is beneficial but not required
